Title: My boyfriend, her boyfriend?
Author: Angela Kang
Genre: Teen issues
Pages: 4 pages
Mentor Texts:

The book Secret Santa by Sabrina James inspired me to write a my story about teen issues. The book is about a girl names Noelle that likes a guy named Charlie(of course one of the popular guys in school), so she hopes to get some way to be with him. But at school an event comes up(SECRET SANTA) and she hopes to draw his name to get a chance to tell him that she likes him during the present giving. But when she picked out a name, she didn't get him but got Jake, Charlie's younger brother! On the other hand, Jake has Noelle's name, but she thinks Charlie is the one giving her the gifts. So she goes through many problems trying to prevent girls from going after Charlie, when he isn't interested in her at all.

Audience: For my story, i think the audience should be youth/teens. I don't young students would really understand it that much. Also any people that like stories involving teen problems.

Writing Process: For this writing, I had a hard time thinking of an idea, but once i got my basic storyline it was easier. I started my idea as a fantasy story, but I didn't have much of an imagination so I just talked with my friends. I had an long talk with vanessa, and so I had the genre of teen issues. I first started off with a rough draft, it was pretty easy. I had bullet points of how I wanted to story to go. Then went through a couple people and did the revision activity, where your partner reads your story and writes what the expostion, rising action, climax, falling action, and denoument of your story. I did that with my friends, then Ms. Staff did too. Then revised it, then turned it in and got feedback from Ms. Staff. I had a lot of grammer problems so i revised it one last time. Now I 3 drafts inculding my final :)

Publishing Process: Vanessa and I combined our two stories together into one book. We got a binder, then put our story in plastic sheet covers and also created our title pages for our story, and a front cover for our book.

Thank you for sharing so much about the writing process you went through. I really got a sense of how your story came to life!
